The house of busardi

Co-founded in 2009 by mother and son, Busardi and Tuck Muntarbhorn, Busardi is a semi-couture label based in Bangkok, and is the first Thai label to show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Prior to launching Busardi, Busardi Muntarbhorn was creative director and head designer at family-owned Yoswadee, Thailand’s oldest surviving fashion house, founded by Busardi’s mother. Grounded in couture roots, Busardi’s collections are produced and embellished by highly skilled artisans in the heart of Thailand.

Busardi muntarbhorn

Busardi Muntarbhorn was born in Thailand in 1959 and grew up as part of Thailand’s oldest surviving fashion house, Yoswadee, founded by her Mother, Yoswadee Boon-Long.

Muntarbhorn studied architecture at Silapakorn University in Bangkok and later completed her master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. Upon obtaining her master’s, Muntarbhorn moved to New York to study womenswear at the Fashion Institute of Technology and returned to Thailand soon after.

Starting her early career in landscape architecture, Muntarbhorn soon shifted to a full-time career in womenswear and for fifteen years she gained integral experience in artisanal couture, working closely alongside her mother as a joint Creative Director of Yoswadee. Following the retirement of Boon-Long in 2000, Muntarbhorn became Yoswadee’s brand successor.

In 2009, Muntarbhorn co-founded her own semi-couture label, Busardi, with her son, Tuck Muntarbhorn who oversees the label’s operations. In 2014, Busardi made its first international debut during London Fashion Week and in 2015, Busardi became the first Thai label to show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week
